THESE men appear to be Australia's dopiest vandals, laughing brazenly into a security camera that filmed them in the act. The two were caught on CCTV entering a tram overpass lift in Adelaide. The lift was damaged, graffiti scratched into its walls. Then the two men caught sight of the security camera, looked directly at it, and began pulling faces. But their apparent lack of concern that they would be caught appears justified: almost five months after the August 28 incident, police are still searching for them. Police recently posted images of the men at Adelaide railway stations, where they will be seen by thousands of commuters every day. Known as the Wanted Poster scheme, the program shows commuters pictures of suspects caught in the act. It has so far been highly effective, notching up a success rate of 71.5 per cent. The head of the Transit Service Branch, Chief Inspector Robert Williams, said it was rare for people to be as brazen as the two men in the security photograph. "The photograph appears to show the offenders playing up to the CCTV," he said.
