There is an "urgent" need for security surveillance systems at two large ports in southern Victoria, Australia. This is according to a leading angling pressure group, who says that assaults around the port are becoming a problem for fishermen, according to the Franklin Standard Leader. VR Fish, a Victoria body that represents fisherman to the Australian government, has said that "boat rage" is a problem in Port Phillip and Western Port after conducting a study of 35 boat ramps and over 2000 boaties. Todd Trimble, Mornington Peninsula Shire spokesman, told the news provider that the council were responding pragmatically but positively to the request. "These projects involve lengthy processes, with the myriad of approvals and extensive consultation required for coastal projects," he said. "But [we are] confident that we can deliver improvements throughout 2011."
